 Welcome to "& Eat It, Too!" My name is Scott Devol, and I am here to ensure that you experience a wedding or event day with unique cake designs and desserts created especially for you and the style of your event.

 

 

 My new mode of cake delivery.....just kidding!

 

 

 

 

I was recently named the preferred cake baker for the new

Gervasi Vineyard in Canton, check them out for your wedding, event, lunch or dinner. The place is magnificent!

A note to future brides: Fondant covered cakes seem to be the trend these days, they look beautiful, but have you ever tasted one? I have been told that my butter cream cakes look like fondant, and I know that they taste better! I use a lot of real butter in my butter creams. Come for a tasting, you will try six butter cream flavors, and I will have a piece of fondant on hand for you to try also if you'd like, then you can make the better, buttercream decision!

 


 

 

4', 6", 8", 10" & 12 inch squares. The 6 & 8" were chocolate cake, one filled w strawberry, the other cream cheese, the rest were almond cake, one filled with chocolate cream, one w coconut cream & one apricot. The stencilling was done in black butter cream. I think it's my best one yet, although you have to consider who it was for!!!

Swirly Q's, 12", 10", 8", 6" & 4".   12, 8 & 4" are apricot pudding cake, no filling. 10 & 6" are almond cake filled with raspberry. chambord butter cream over all. Red Butter cream swirls and over sized beading at the bases. The 2 plain tiers aren't really plain, they have small swirls imprinted all over them. They just don't show up very well either. Served 188. Reception was held at Prestwick Country Club in Uniontown, Ohio.

Werner, 14", 12", 6" & 4".    14 & 6" are red velvet cake, 12 & 4" are vanilla cake, no fillings, vanilla butter cream over all. The 12 & 4" are quilted, and the 14 & 6" have a scroll stencilled on them, but the lines & stencilling don't show up very well in the pic. Served 180, Reception was held at Springlake Party Center in Lakemore, Ohio.

First cake of a three cake weekend, Damask, 4", 6", 8" & 12". 12 & 4" are chocolate rush cake fil...led with cherry, 6" & 8" are apricot pudding cake filled with apricot. Creme de cacao butter cream over all. Served 130. Reception held at Guys Party Center on Waterloo Road in Akron. Of all the venues I've been to, I do think this one is the prettiest so far!

Plum Lace, 12", 8" 6" & 4", almond cake for 12 & 6", raspberry in the 12 & lemon in the 6. Chocolate rush cake for the 8 & 4", cherry in the 8 & strawberry in the 4. Creme de cacao butter cream over all. All of the R's are made of royal icing. Served 130. Reception was held at Akron City Centre ...Hotel.

Scott! Just wanted to let you know that Jeff and I LOVED loved loved your cake you made for our wedding. Not only was it gorgeous with the perfect colors and "R" cake topper, but it tasted incredible. Every single person I talked to absolutely loved the flavors and the chocolate pieces were completely gone by end of the night. We had a few almond with raspberry and almond with strawberry left but we ate that today with family. We met with Scott a year before our wedding to sample the cake flavors, fillings, and frostings. We decided on a very complicated combination of the latter, but Scott was excited about it. We also chose a non-traditional cake design (ours is the "Happily Ever After" on his website) with flowers that he had never before made. I wanted everything on the cake to be edible, so he learned how to make hydrangeas out of royal icing. After he made them, he sent me pictures to get my opinion. I was very impressed! Scott went out of his way to give us everything we wanted for our cake. All of our guests raved about the design and the taste of it. He even transported the cake all the way over to the Youngstown area for us. Hands down, I would recommend & Eat It, Too!

The cake that Scott created fitted our ideas exactly! My husband and I liked that we were able to taste a wide variety of cake flavors, fillings and icings before deciding on the perfect combination for us. Scott was very professional and the final product not only looked great, but it tasted wonderful! We received many compliments from our guests. In addition, my husband generally does not like cake and he ate a whole slice! We booked Scott over a year ago when we were looking for cake. We tried several of the big names in town and found his cake to be the best. He was a pleasure to work with and confident he could deliver the cake that we wanted. We have referred several friends to him prior to our wedding and will continue to do so after our wedding. Delivered this at 2pm, 12", 10", 6" & 4". The 12' & 6" are chocolate rush cake, the 10" & 4" are red velvet, all chocolate bavarian cream filled with chambord (raspberry liquor) butter cream over all.
Pink Quilt, 6/12/10, Served 148The cake for my wedding was gorgeous! Exactly what I wanted and delicious! All the guests loved it, and I had a few guests ask to take some home. The most delicous cake I have ever tasted! It is amazing how wonderful of a job he does with butter cream (no one could have guessed that it was made without fondant). I actually had one guest eat four pieces ha ha. Definitely recommend his services. If my family or I need any cakes in the future, he is definitely the only baker I will go to.

All Tied Up, 5/15/10, Served 222Scott recently baked a cake for our wedding reception. My husband and I really enjoyed working with him. He listened to our ideas and helped to put them into action. Neither my husband nor I are huge cake people, so he worked with us to incorporate cheesecake into our cake. From the outside it still looked like a gorgeous, traditional wedding cake!
Not only was the cake pretty, but it tasted delicious, too. Don't shy away because he does not use fondant. The taste of his butter cream is too good not to use (and I'm not a big icing fan) and he smooths out the icing so well that you really can't tell it's not fondant until you bite into the cake.
Scott provided us with tons of options in terms of fillings, icings, cake flavors, and cheesecake flavors, and even offered us two tastings given our unique cake design. The regular cake tasting was free (he presented us with two plates loaded to the brim with options). Scott charged us a small fee for the cheesecake tasting, but he gave us the two four-inch cakes (two flavors in each) to take home.
I would definitely work with Scott again, and I highly recommend him (as do all of the guests from my reception!).

Our cake was big blue and beautiful and we love, love, loved it! It was delicious and looked amazing! The butter cream is definitely the way to go. Scott was very professional and affordable, he never made any false promises and told us exactly what he could do. We designed our cake from various pictures in his books and it completely blew away our expectations. We definitely recommend him to everyone.Besides looking amazing, the cake was delicious, it was very moist and the filling was just as good. Our cake was completely eaten, which is an indication of how good it was!
